Steel production forecast 2007
The latest world steel production forecast for 2007 suggests that global steel output will increase by 5-6% this year. UK-based consultants MEPS are forecasting 2007 crude steel production of 1307 million metric tonnes.
Production in the seven years of this millenium is especially notable. Since early 2000, the industry has witnessed an increase in steelmaking production volume of ~450 million tonnes.

Hi,
Although it is said that Steel is a cyclic nature of commodity, the recent advances in technology and the growth of markets particularly in the Developing countries like China, India, etc the decline in Steel demand seems to be pushed back by a decade or so.
